Summer's Over! The Back-to-School Checklist Every Parent Needs

August is here, signaling a fresh start and a return to the classroom.

While back-to-school season can be exciting, it can also be a bit overwhelming for both parents and children.

But don't worry, we've got your back!

As your partners in education, we want to share 5 simple tips to help you and your child gear up for a successful school year.

Establish a Routine

Start adjusting your child's sleep schedule now to ensure they get the rest they need for those early mornings. Gradually reintroduce school-night routines like reading, packing lunches, and laying out clothes for the next day.

Stock Up on Supplies

Check those school supply lists and make sure you have everything your child needs to start the year off right. This includes notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and any specific materials required for their classes.

Set Goals Together

Sit down with your child and discuss their academic goals for the year. What subjects do they want to excel in? What skills do they hope to develop? Having clear goals helps keep them motivated and focused throughout the year.

Open the Lines of Communication

Talk to your child about their feelings about returning to school. Are they excited, nervous, or a bit of both? Encourage them to share their thoughts and concerns so you can address any anxieties they may have.

Revisit the Basics

Before school starts, take some time to review foundational concepts from the previous year. This refresher can help them feel more confident and prepared when they return to the classroom.

As always, Be Able Learning Services is here to support you and your child throughout the school year. Whether your child needs a little extra help in a particular subject or you're looking for strategies to improve their overall academic performance, we offer personalized tutoring programs tailored to their unique needs.
